Robyn Atticks has been a professional hair stylist for over 16 years. Already living a healthy, organic lifestyle, she soon became aware of the many dangers in the beauty industry. As she continued her studies, she learned critical information on the detrimental affects of chemicals in most hair & skin products. Thus, in 2005 she decided to open the first organic salon in her area (Lancaster, PA). As she tried out the few truly organic hair care products, she became increasingly discouraged at the lack of a salon quality line to promote in her salon. Some she found still had dangerous ingredients while others were outrageously expensive and not affordable to the average consumer.
Taking matters into her own hands, she hired a passionate organic formulator who has been an expert herbalist since the 1960’s. Combining her experience as a stylist and her formulator’s experience as a naturalist & herbalist, a new salon-quality product line was born for hair, skin and body care.
Robyn now is a self-proclaimed education ambassador, providing information to everyone she can on the harmful chemicals in their products to help them live a healthier lifestyle. Her mission is to convert as many toxic salons as possible to non-toxic. Robyn is enthusiastically trying to change the beauty industry forever, thereby helping make a difference in the lives of her clients and clients around the world who deserve healthy products!

My name is Robyn Atticks & I have been a professional hairstylist for over 16 years now. Growing up in the beauty industry, I have learned so much about the art of loving & caring for people from my mother, professional hairstylist of over 34 years, Dianne Shaub. She has been my inspiration & I could not have done this without her. We now work as a team in educating salons, spas & clients on the organic revolution that we are offering to the beauty industry.
Why do we need this organic revolution you may ask? According to the dictionary, revolution refers to “a sudden or momentous change in a situation”. This is exactly what I believe the beauty industry needs today. Why should women risk using toxic chemicals to enhance their beauty? Do any women want to risk cancer, lung problems, depression, weakened immune systems, just to name a few, so they can use hair, skin or body care products or color their hair? NO!
There is another option for women. I became a label-reader. I learned that what the front of the product claimed was, almost all of the time, not what the product actually was on the inside. I learned the importance of reading the actual ingredients. After searching the globe, I became discouraged. It seemed impossible to find salon & spa quality products that were truly 100% all natural & organic. I soon realized that this was what the beauty industry needed! Shear Miracles Organic Hair, Skin & Body Care was born.
Opening the first organic salon in my area, Shear Miracles Organic Salon & Products were the talk of the town. Salon owners began contacting me & asking to use & sell my products in their salons! That is when my dream to change the beauty industry grew. I realized that I could reach women all over the world rather than simply in my own community. Now used in salons & spas across the nation, our line offers a wide variety of skin & hair protecting and enhancing products. Never worry about those undesired side affects ever again! Understanding that a salon needs the ability to enhance the color of their clients’ hair, I had begun to search for the safest, healthiest method to color hair. I now use an organic color system that is virtually non-toxic, never using ammonia or any ammonia substitutes. What I found to be different from all the other, so-called, natural or ammonia-free color lines now on the market is that this system changes the whole delivery procedure. Most color lines use a harsh chemical to blast open the hair’s cuticle, thus allowing the color to penetrate the hair. This system does not. How can you, the consumer, know what to look for when choosing a hair, skin or body care line for you or your family? What should you look for as an informed customer?
BOTTOM LINE: A chemical line manufacturer will tell you everything is made up of chemicals whether it is "organic" or not. What is important here is that once you have "altered" a natural organic material into something else, then it is not the same molecular structure anymore. Once it is blended with other ingredients, its synergy is completely different & the end result ingredient becomes a complete "unknown". So the question begs an answer as to why someone would want to put something on their skin, which is absorbs right into thier bloodstream, if they have no idea of the long term effects! We find new evidence everyday that the long term effects of many of these ingredients are extremely dangerous. (See our Top 10 Most Dangerous Ingredients List under "Learn More" for more information on this) Many chemical line manufacturers will ask you to prove that their ingredients are harmful. Our question, that we encourage everyone to ask is, "Can they prove their chemical ingreidents are NOT harmful to the body?" They obviously won't be able to & it then becomes a question you need to ask yourself.............Am I willing to risk a long term, possibly fatal illness, by not only using a chemical product myself, but advising others to purchase the same products for themselves & their children? My answer, as a hair stylist of over 16 years, is positively NO WAY! This is the reason I started Shear Miracles Organic Body Care - The first ever professional hair, skin & body care line with products so pure you can actually eat them. And this is why I am so passionate about spreading the word to other stylists, like myself, who for years have done just this.
- There is a whole book we could write about what sets Shear Miracles Organic Hair, Skin & Body Care apart from other companies- even organic ones. Two important things are that we are dedicated to not introducing products - even ingredients for that matter - into the marketplace that are toxic & are either harmful or potentially harmful to the human body & the environment. The second is, we at Shear Miracles by Robyn, created this company as a way to support charatiable organizations. Our goal is to donate a portion of our profits to help stop sex trafficing around the world. Our formulator & others that we work closely to are committed to relieving suffering in other ways, creating a cleaner environment & in general making our planet a better place to live.
- Not only do we avoid those ingredients that are harmful and/or potentially harmful to the body, we only use ingredients that are known for their benefits to the body. We do this by emphasising 2 main components in our skincare products; anti-oxidants & anti-inflammatories. Anti-oxidants are necessary to combat the aging process caused mostly by free radicals in the skin. All Shear Miracles Organic Skincare products are loaded with all natural, organic herbs that are well known anti-oxidants & thus excellent collagen & elastin builders. You will notice the difference from the very first use of our products! Since there are so many people now allergic to everything under the sun, including the purest of ingreidents, we have included many herbs that are anti-inflammatory. As a result, we very rarely have anyone react to any of our Shear Miracles products. - Read the label!!! Look for which ingredients are organic. Many lines declare & advertise that they are organic. And yet, a review of ingredients from the "so-called" organic products reveal that 70%, or even less, are actually organic. This is marketing hype! Don't fall for it. Competitive "so-called" organic lines may include ingreidients that are chemical & toxic, such as, carbomers (plastics), parabens (toxic preservatives found in breast cancer tissue), bontanicals ( which may or may not be organic). All Shear Miracles Organic Body Care ingredients are certified organic, organic (if certified organic is not available) & wild-crafted.
- When reveiwing ingredients from another line, you should always ask yourself, "Are these ingredients good enough to eat?" NOTE: Whatever is applied to the skin, a majority of the product & its ingredients will definatley penetrate the skin & enter the bloodstream. You can ask yourself, "When I put make-up on in the morning, & it's gone by evening, & I haven't washed it off, then where does it go?" So, if you don't want an ingredient in your blood, then don't apply it to your skin. FACT: Anderson Cooper of CNN was being interviewed regarding toxins found in kids bodies & had his blood tested for various heavy metals & was surprised to discover that he was above the 95th percentile in phthalates- "the stuff found in cosmetics like the make-up I put on before going in front of the cameras," he told viewers. As the doctor that did the test said, "You probably put on a lot of make-up a lot of the time." FYI- Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to soften & increase the flexibility of plastic & vinyl. Phthalates are used in cosmetics & personal care products, including perfume, hairspray, soap, shampoo, nail polish, & moisturizers. - If you dare, call the manufacturer & ask for the "formulation dept." Pose the question, "Do you use organic botanicals & do you use formaldehyde or alcohol to extract the botanicals?" My guess is that they probably won't admit to it, but keep in mind using formaldehyde or alcohol to extract botanicals are 2 of the most prevalent methods for botanical extractions. Shear Miracles manufacturers all our own botanical extracts & herbal infusions. We use our structured vitamin water concentrate (distilled water based) to extract botanicals & created herbal infusions on site. And all of our products are made in small batches upon wholesale ordering so that they are never warehoused anywhere.
- Just because a chemical is determined to be safe by governmental organizations, does that mean they are actually safe? Years ago many chemcials were declared to be safe only to discover they were extremely harmful. It can take decades before the body reacts to a chemical. In the meantime, irreversible damage can be done to our delicate human organism. When my great-grandmother was living, there never used to be such incidences of cancer, birth defects, children's illness.
- Since the skin, hair & cosmetic industries are not regulated, if a determination of product purity must be made, it becomes the obligation of the purchaser to make a judgement call as to whom they trust.

All our ingredients are active. This means we don't water down our product with cheap ingredients that just fill up the bottles. Alfalfa Extract- This is a great & potent anti-oxidant.
Almond Oil- Great for all skin types as an acting emoillent, & is best known to soften, soothe & recondition the skin. We use it as a carrier oil, always a natural expeller pressed oil in raw whole almond form, which is exceptionally rich in fatty acids (particularly oleic acid) & light, penetrating & non-greasy. It is a wonderful source of vitamin E, as well as numerous other vitamins & minerals.
Aloe Vera- HYDRATION!! Skin absorbs Aloe Vera up to 4X faster than water alone. This ingredient that is in most of our products has incredible moisturizing properties! Studies show that Aloe Vera improves the skin's ability to hydrate itself, aids in the removal of dead skin cells, & has an effective penetrating ability that helps transport healthy substances through the skin. Aloe Vera contains essential oils, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes & glycoproteins. Promoting healing of the skin, aloe vera is an antibiotic, an astringent coagulating agent, pain inhibitor & growth stimulator. Promotes tissue growth, alleviating the advancement of skin cancer caused by the sun. It is a treatment for all kinds of skin aliments, including ringworm, boils, inflammed joints, scalds, itchy allergic reactions, insect stings & bites. Creating a definate softening of external skin, & releif from dry & sensitive skin, & skin diseases by keeping the skin supple, & we use it successfully in the treatment of acne & eczema. Aloe's healing power comes from increasing the availibility of oxygen to the skin & increasing the synthesis & strength of tissue.
Rosemary- This wonderful, fragrant, mediterranean, free-radical-fighting, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic herb is a very potent antioxidant that we use to prolong the shelf life & stability of our products & is very beneficial to promoting healthy skin & hair. Rosemary oil stimulates the hair follicles & scalp circulation & can slow down premature balding. It also can make dark hair gleem, which is why you will find it in so many of our hair care products.

I am writing to tell you about my favorite organic hair and skin care line, ShearMiracles . Because it is the only organic product I have ever found to be 100% organic, the other lines come no where close to winning my loyalty. Because of this, I can be 100% confident that when I use Shear Miracles, I am investing not only in my natural beauty, but in my overall health. To top it all off, the products have many amazing scents to choose from that leave my daily routine energized and uplifting. It truly is difficult to choose just one favorite item from this line, but I would have to say that it would be the conditioner. The shampoo and conditioner are wonderful. The facial cleanser is sweet (literally). Love the moisturizer. And the Peter Butter and Gina Jam is an innovative product that is doing what it was created to do (for which my husband and I are exceedingly thankful)! Let me tell you, I have never said that about any other lubricant because other products irritate... very counterproductive.

I am a hairdresser in an rehab and nursing facility and these people have enough chemicals going into their bodies, they need something soothing on their heads. Shear Miracles has provided me with great products and my clients have noticed the change and they like it! I have tried many of Shear Miracles products on myself and my clients. I like all the shampoos but my favorite is Tuff n Up. This is a great shampoo and smells good. My hair looks great. The Purely Amazing conditioner is very nice and leaves the hair smooth and shinny. For my clients I use Detoxify, Calming and Bliss shampoo and conditioners. Also I use the gelhair spray and lighter . The Angel Mysts are great little additions, use on your face, skin, hands. A squirt of jasmine. I use the Absolute Perfection skin care line for myself, I like it and I have had many compliments, one from my husband. He likes the smells and says my skin looks young. I am not a big makeup person but use the mascara and lose powder. This is a very professional line of products and the owners are friendly and very helpful. They answer questions and make sure you are satisfied. They have provided the best natural products. I am completely satisfied. Shear Miracles has changed me and my business for the better.

My hair is now much softer, shiner, and healthier. I also have thin hair and found that her Wild Child Shampoo & Conditioner work great. My favorite beauty products are from Shear Miracles by Robyn. I love Robyn's products because they are professional quality and really are 100% pure. So many companies say their products are organic or natural, but they have the same harmful ingredients as every other company. The Bliss Lavender Shampoo hydrates my unruly, curly hair while the lavender scent sends me to a place of utter relaxation. The lavender conditioner is light weight yet hydrating.
Although the Mineral Foundation cover-up cream has a nice coverage for my couperose and blotchy red skin, it does not have a mask like or false appearance. It leaves my skin looking naturally smooth and even toned.

The first time I walked into a salon that uses all natural beauty products, I was struck by the incredible smell. It reminded me of my mother's herb garden and flower beds.
